We have booked a 3 bedroom condo in the Ko Olina resort that sleeps 6 comfortable and has a Queen Areo mattress available and now have booked our flights. We are going to drive to Atlanta and fly from there to save almost $300 per person We will fly June 22 to Pheonix and then connect to Honolulu and then return late on the night of July 4th to get home July 5th. We are looking into renting an automobile while we are in Hawaii so we can see the sights after the wedding since the first week we expect to be busy with wedding preparations.

Wedding Date set

The date for Caitlyn and Raoul to have their Hawaiian wedding has been set for Friday June 27th 2008 in an evening ceremony at JW Marriott Ihilani Resort & Spa at Ko Olina in
Kapolei - Oahu, Hawaii.

Since Caitlyn is now pregnant she is being taken off the USS Enterprise since the Navy does not allow pregnant people to serve aboard ships that are out to sea. The current Navy policy states that if both the parents are on active duty then both parents cannot be on sea going commands at the same time. We are currently estimating a due date about mid February 2008 for Grand baby number one.

Caitlyn has been reassigned to shore duty for the duration of her pregnancy.

Wedding Plans

Right now Caitlyn and Raoul are planning to have a wedding ceremony in Hawaii next year about this time Saturday June 21 2008 (Start saving)

Caitlyn's ship the USS Enterprise is being deployed Early July 2007 to mid December.2007

Raoul's ship the USS Teddy Roosevelt is being deployed August-September 2008 to February-March 2009.

Caitlyn & Raoul are married

On June 20, 2007 in the city hall of Hampton, Va before a few friends and a Justice of the Peace Caitlyn Marie Carraher and Raoul Baldimore Fernandez Jr were married.

They will be visiting some of the family in the next week in Florida and Hawaii. They plan on a large wedding ceremony to take place in Hawaii in the Summer?? of 2008 after Caitlyns ship returns from Deployment in late 2007 and before Raoul's ship is deployed in the fall of 2008.

Caitlyn is engaged

At 1:30 PM on Friday June 15th 2007 Caitlyn and Raoul became officially Engaged on the deck of the Joe's Crab Shack in Hampton, Va with his and her parents present. His mother and aunts cried in joy. Raoul and Caitlyn are now taking a short trip to visit some of the family in Florida and then his Family in Hawaii before her shipped is deployed.

The plans right now are to meet Raouls parents on June 15-16 and then Caitlyn and Raoul will officially announce that they are engaged. Susan and I are going up to Norfolk meet Raouls parents at the same time.

During the next week Caitlyn and Raoul are going to see a Justice of the Peace to get married in a legal cermony so they will be next of kin and be contacted in case something were to happen to eaither of them during their deployments before they officially were to get married in Hawaii.

So when we see them at Disney World in June (26-28) they will be married. Caitlyn and Raoul are still planning to have a wedding cermony in Hawaii in November 2008.

The continuing saga of Caitlyns secret engagement

We are going to Norfolk June 15-16 to meet Raouls parents at the same time Caitlyn meets them.

Caitlyns ship is about to go to sea for another 3 weeks starting about May 18 until about June 9. After the ship returns there will be two leave periods for the crew prior to a long deployment of about 6 months. Caitlyn has been granted leave from June 23 to July 10 and Raoul has been granted leave from June 25 to about July 12. Caitlyn and Raoul are planning to visit the family in Florida during June 26 to 28 and then head to Hawaii to meet Raoul's family.

Even though Caitlyn is not engaged (maybe she is secretly) she has discussed a location for the possible wedding http://www.bayerestate.com/ and a time of year Thankasgiving 2008. Of course the Navy may have something to say about when she actually has the wedding. Her ship is being deployed this summer July to December 2007 and then going into dry dock for 18 months. His ship is in dry dock now and being deployed in the spring of 2008 for 6 months (April to October?).

Caitlyns Engagement

Our second oldest daughter Caitlyn Marie was unofficially engaged Feb 14, 2007 to Raoul Baldimore Fernandez Jr. We learned of it within a few days becasue we talk to Caitlyn very reguilarly/ Caitlyn also told us however the Engagement is supposed to be kept a secret until Caitlyn meets her future in-laws.

Caitlyn and Raoul are based on seperate Aircraft Carriers in Norfolk Va after having completed Nuclear Power Training in October 2006. Caitlyn is an E4 on the USS Enterprise and Raoul is an E5 on the USS Teddy Roosevelt. Raoul reenlisted for 2 years after he completed his first 2 years (Star Reenlistment) and gained rank with that.

Rumor has it Caitlyn may have a ring on her finger but we have not seen one and no date has been set so we are not sure if she is even engaged or if this is all a figment of her vivid imagination. More importantly Raoul has not come to me and asked permission to ask her.
